Recognized as an expert in his field, Stanford trained Dr. M. Dean Vistnes is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and is a member of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a highly respected plastic surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr. Vistnes completed his pre-medical undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California at Davis, graduating on the Dean's List in 1981. He received his medical training at Stanford University School of Medicine, graduating in 1987. He then applied to, and was accepted, at Stanford University's Plastic Surgery Training Program, one of the most competitive plastic surgery training programs in the country. After six years of training, he completed both his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at Stanford in 1993. Appointed to a coveted fellowship, Dr. Vistnes did an additional full year of training in cosmetic surgery and breast surgery in Nashville, TN at the Institute for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Vistnes is currently in full-time private practice in Palo Alto, California with a practice devoted to both aesthetic surgery and non- surgical treatments. Having recognized the growing demand for non-invasive procedures such as laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, Collagen, Botox, IPL and microdermabrasion, Dr. Vistnes and his staff have developed an unparalleled reputation as quality providers of these services in the Bay Area.
Dr. Vistnes' plastic surgery practice includes aesthetic surgery of face and neck, rejuvenation of the aging skin, body contouring and liposculpture, and breast enhancement. Dr. Vistnes is married and the father of two boys.
